Takeo Christians Celebrate 27th Anniversary of Bishop Olivier’s Mission in Cambodia

Takeo Province: Catholic Christians at the Takeo pastoral center gathered on November 16 to celebrate the 27th anniversary of the commencement of the mission of Bishop Olivier Schmitthaeusler to proclaim the Gospel in Cambodia.
The celebration demonstrated profound gratitude for the effort, sacrifice, and dedication of Bishop Olivier, who has guided and fulfilled his mission in Cambodia since 1998. The ceremony served not only as a commemoration of the mission’s beginning but also as an expression of thanks for the growth and development of the Christian community in the Takeo area under his guidance.
Over the past two decades, Bishop Olivier has actively contributed to the development of numerous educational, social, and charitable works, which have positively impacted the daily lives of the people in the region.

The Traeng Trayeng Parish solemnly inaugurated a new activity building under the presidency of Bishop Olivier Schmitthaeusler, Apostolic Vicar of Phnom Penh, accompanied by Bishop Pierre Suon Hangly, Coadjutor Bishop of the Apostolic Vicariate of Phnom Penh, together with numerous priests. The ceremony was held on December 13 in Traeng Trayeng Commune, Phnom Sruoch District, Kampong Speu Province, to support and enhance the pastoral mission and activities of Saint Martin Church of this parish.

In the context of the conflict between Cambodia and Thailand, Bishop Olivier urged the faithful to pray and to continue works of charity. He said,
