On 24 November 2019, the Parish Pastoral Council and the youth group of St. Paul’s Church (Koh Sla) along with Fr. Charles NANI KALE offered their condolences to the family of the late Chea Kert who was a poor man in Chhuk district’s Trapeang Phleang, Kampot province. Chan Manuth, head of the youth group of the Parish Pastoral Council said that Chea Kert, 51, died after a long battle with illness. Fr. Charles had visited and offered his condolences and prayed for him.
After the funeral of the late CheaKert, the Church handed out a sack of milled rice and some money for that poor family. The money was raised from members of the faithful.
He further said that three of seven children of the late Chea Kert who are still schooling would be assisted by the Church, if the family requests for help. He added that the Church had always assisted those in need in the village regardless of their religious affiliations. For example as is the family of the late CheaKert.
