Celebration of Bishop Olivier’s episcopacy

On March 20, 2014 Our Lady of the Smile Parish (ChamkarTeang) located in Takeo’s Tramkak town celebrated Bishop Olivier’s 4th anniversary of his Episcopal ordination. Among those present at this celebration were Frs. Vanathayan Arokiyadass, Charles Nani Kale, Un, nuns and an estimated 80 international and local Catholics. Bishop Olivier was consecrated a bishop on March 20th, 2010. The celebration took place in a pleasant atmosphere with a cake and thanksgiving message given by Kol Cheang, representing the Catholic Community who is also Chairman of the organising Committee.

The Traeng Trayeng Parish solemnly inaugurated a new activity building under the presidency of Bishop Olivier Schmitthaeusler, Apostolic Vicar of Phnom Penh, accompanied by Bishop Pierre Suon Hangly, Coadjutor Bishop of the Apostolic Vicariate of Phnom Penh, together with numerous priests. The ceremony was held on December 13 in Traeng Trayeng Commune, Phnom Sruoch District, Kampong Speu Province, to support and enhance the pastoral mission and activities of Saint Martin Church of this parish.

In the context of the conflict between Cambodia and Thailand, Bishop Olivier urged the faithful to pray and to continue works of charity. He said,
